Oradejo is a prescription medicine used to prevent attacks of hereditary angioedema (HAE) in adults and children over 12 years of age. Not for use in the treatment of acute HAE attacks. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved oral, once-daily Oradejo prophylaxis to prevent the onset of hereditary angioedema (HAE) in adults and children 12 years of age and older. Today let’s learn about Oladiyo’s side effects and treatment methods.

Oradejo side effects:

Heart rhythm problems. Taking more than one Oradejo capsule a day may cause QT prolongation, a condition that causes an abnormal heartbeat.

The most common adverse reactions (≥10%) with Oladiyo were abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, back pain, and gastroesophageal reflux disease. Less common side effects of Oradejo include abnormal liver function tests. A less common side effect of Oradejo: A brief, itchy rash.

Oradejo was safe and well-tolerated in both trials. The most commonly reported adverse reactions in patients receiving Oladijo compared to placebo were gastrointestinal reactions. These reactions usually occur early after starting Oladiyo treatment, become less frequent over time, and usually resolve on their own.

Patients should not increase or decrease the drug dosage without authorization while receiving Oladiyo treatment. Increasing the drug dosage will not make the condition improve quickly, but will lead to adverse reactions. Therefore, patients should strictly follow the doctor's diagnosis and treatment recommendations and should not use medication without authorization. When side effects occur, contact your attending physician promptly to seek solutions.

Oradejo is not indicated for the acute treatment of acute ischemic encephalopathy attacks: Patients are advised to take commonly used rescue medications for the treatment of acute ischemic encephalopathy attacks. Patients should be informed that the safety and effectiveness of Oladijo as an acute treatment for hereditary angioedema HAE attacks have not been established.

Safety and tolerability were good in both studies, with the most common adverse reactions being gastrointestinal effects compared with placebo. Usually the incidence is higher in the early stages of treatment, then gradually decreases, and patients usually resolve on their own.
