How to use Ensifentrine correctly
Ohtuvayre (Ensifentrine)-Ensefentine Inhalation Suspension is an innovative inhalation preparation for long-term maintenance treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It enters the lungs through atomized inhalation and directly acts on the respiratory tract. It has a rapid onset of action and has dual sustained anti-inflammatory and bronchodilatory effects. When using this drug, patients should strictly follow the instructions and doctor's guidance to ensure maximum efficacy.
The standard recommended dose is3 mg twice daily, once in the morning and once in the evening. Each time you use 1 ampoule (i.e. 3mg/2.5mL) of liquid medicine, you need to use a standard jet nebulizer with an interface to atomize the medicine and then inhale it into the lungs through oral inhalation. The jet atomizer should be connected to a compressed air or sterile oxygen gas source to complete the atomization treatment within the specified time. Each use takes about 10 minutes. During use, patients should maintain natural breathing, avoid rapid inhalation and vomiting, and ensure that the drug is fully deposited in the lungs.

Before operation, check whether the atomizer is clean, ensure that the pipeline is not blocked and the interface seal is intact. The medicinal solution should be used immediately after opening to avoid prolonged exposure to the air, which may lead to reduced efficacy. It is recommended to rinse your mouth with water after each inhalation to reduce reactions such as local irritation or dry mouth. Equipment should be cleaned daily and disinfected regularly to ensure safety and efficacy.
It should be particularly emphasized that exefentine is a maintenance treatment drug and is not an emergency use inhalant. That is, when COPD patients experience acute attacks or difficulty breathing, this drug should not be used to replace emergency drugs such as salbutamol. Its advantages are reflected in improving the basic functions of the respiratory system, reducing symptom fluctuations and reducing the frequency of acute exacerbations after long-term use.
During use, if adverse reactions such as dizziness, palpitations, throat irritation, etc. occur, you should communicate with your doctor in time to evaluate whether the dosage needs to be adjusted or the treatment plan needs to be changed. If you miss a dose, refill it as soon as possible, but do not double the dose.
