Indications

Natamycin is a polyene macrolide antibiotic with broad-spectrum antifungal activity and low toxicity. Not only can it effectively inhibit the growth and reproduction of fungi, but it can also prevent the formation of certain mycotoxins. It is mainly used clinically for conjunctivitis, keratitis, and fungal blepharitis caused by microorganisms that are sensitive to this product, including Fusarium solani keratitis.

1. Shake well before instilling eye drops. First, wash your hands with soapy water to keep your hands clean.

2. The patient can sit or lie on his back, tilt his head back, then use the index finger of one hand to open the lower eyelid, and drip the liquid vertically into the eyeball. The mouth of the bottle should be at least two centimeters away from the eyeball. Do not touch the mouth of the bottle to avoid contaminating the liquid.

3. After instilling the eye drops, slowly rotate your eyeballs or blink appropriately to distribute the solution evenly into the eyes. Do not close your eyes immediately, otherwise the solution will overflow.

Things to note

1. Patients need to note that eye drops are only for eye drops and cannot be used for injection.

2. If the patient's keratitis does not improve after using the drug for 7-10 days, he should go to the hospital to consult a doctor in time, cooperate with the comprehensive examination, and evaluate whether to continue drug treatment based on the experimental results.

3. Patients suffering from fungal blepharitis, conjunctivitis, or keratitis should not wear contact lenses and should pay attention to eye hygiene.

4. Before taking medication, you should check whether the medicine is intact, whether it has expired, whether the shape of the medicine has changed, etc. If the patient develops suspected drug toxic reactions during medication, such as tinnitus, dizziness, blurred vision, etc., the medication should be stopped immediately.

Patients may experience adverse reactions such as allergic reactions, difficulty breathing, eye discomfort, eye swelling, vision changes, chest pain, corneal opacity, eye congestion, abnormal sensation and tearing, eye irritation, eye pain, foreign body sensation and other adverse reactions during medication.

If the adverse reaction is mild, it will disappear on its own in about 2-3 days, and drug treatment can be continued at this time. However, if the adverse drug reaction is serious, you should consult a doctor in a timely manner and discontinue the drug under the guidance of the doctor, or adjust the drug dosage or change the drug treatment plan to prevent the drug from affecting your health.
