It is a small molecule inhibitor of the calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) receptor, which blocks the effect of CGRP, which is a potent vasodilator and is thought to play a role in migraine.
Remegipan mainly relieves migraine symptoms by inhibiting the activation of 5-HT1F receptors on nerve receptors and reducing the function of this receptor. The main function and function of Remedipan is to relieve headache, drowsiness, nausea and other symptoms during migraine attacks. It not only effectively relieves the pain and discomfort of migraines, but also helps reduce frequent migraine attacks and improve the patient's quality of life.
Efficacy
Research Background
Rimegepant has shown efficacy and safety in the acute treatment of migraine. This study was designed to compare the efficacy of Rimegepant with placebo in the preventive treatment of migraine.
Research Methods
In a multicenter, phase 2/3, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, 747 adults with a history of at least 1 year of migraine were recruited to receive 75 mg of remegipan (n=373) or placebo (n=374) orally every other day.
Results
Remagepam was superior to placebo in the change in mean number of migraine days per month between weeks 9-12. Between weeks 9 and 12, the change in mean number of migraine days per month was -4±3 days for those taking remagepam and -3±5 days for those taking placebo.
A statistically significantly higher percentage of patients who received remagepam achieved headache pain relief and MBS relief within two hours of a single dose compared to patients who received placebo.
