Esomeprazole detailed instructions

Chinese name: esomeprazole; esomeprazole; 5-methoxy-2-((S)-((4-methoxy-3,5-dimethyl-2-pyridyl)methyl)sulfinyl)-1H-benzimidazole.

Indications: Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Treatment of erosive reflux esophagitis. - Long-term maintenance treatment to prevent recurrence in patients with already cured esophagitis. Symptom control of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Use in combination with appropriate antimicrobial therapy to eradicate Helicobacter pylori, and - Heal duodenal ulcers associated with Helicobacter pylori infection - Prevent recurrence of peptic ulcers associated with Helicobacter pylori infection.

Usage and Dosage: For patients whose esophagitis has not been cured or who have persistent symptoms, it is recommended to take the medication for another four weeks. - Long-term maintenance treatment for cured esophagitis patients to prevent recurrence: 20 mg once daily. To control the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), patients without esophagitis should take 20 mg once a day. If the symptoms are not controlled after 4 weeks of medication, the patient should undergo further examination. Once the symptoms are eliminated, immediate treatment can be used for subsequent symptom control, that is, 20 mg orally once a day when necessary. Esomeprazole magnesium enteric-coated tablets 20 mg + amoxicillin 1 g + clarithromycin 500 mg twice daily for 7 days in combination with appropriate antimicrobial therapy to eradicate Helicobacter pylori and - heal duodenal ulcers associated with Helicobacter pylori - prevent recurrence of peptic ulcers associated with Helicobacter pylori.

For patients with swallowing difficulties, dissolve the tablets in half a cup of noncarbonated water (other liquids should not be used as the enteric coating may dissolve). Stir until tablets are completely disintegrated. Take immediately or within 30 minutes. Rinse with 1/2 cup of water before drinking. Pellets should never be chewed or crushed.

Things to note: 1. When a patient is suspected of having gastric ulcer or has already suffered from gastric ulcer, if abnormal symptoms occur (such as obvious unintentional weight loss, repeated vomiting, dysphagia, hematemesis or melena), the possibility of malignant tumor should be ruled out first. Because treatment with this product can reduce symptoms and delay diagnosis. 2. No dose adjustment is required in patients with renal impairment. Because experience with esomeprazole is limited in patients with severe renal insufficiency, caution should be used during treatment. 3. No dose adjustment is required in patients with mild to moderate hepatic impairment. In patients with severe hepatic impairment, the daily dose should not exceed 20 mg. 4． Effects on ability to drive and use machines: No effects have been observed.
