布地奈德缓释胶囊(Tarpeyo)是治疗什么疾病的
Budesonide extended-release capsules (Tarpeyo) are a corticosteroid indicated for reducing the loss of kidney function in adults with primary immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN) who are at risk for disease progression.
What diseases does Budesonide extended-release capsules (Tarpeyo) treat?
It is an oral delayed-release corticosteroid capsule that can be used to reduce inflammation and loss of kidney function in adult patients with primary immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN) who are at risk for disease progression.
IgAN is a common kidney disease associated with a high risk of progression to end-stage renal disease (ESRD), especially in certain ethnic groups.
Galactose-deficient IgA1 (Gd-IgA1) produced by mucosal B cells in the ileum (the last part of the small intestine) is critical for the onset and progression of the disease. Budesonide extended-release capsules have anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects by regulating the number and activity of mucosal B cells.

How to take Budesonide extended-release capsules (Tarpeyo)
1. Recommended dosage
Take 16 mg orally once a day.
2. Recommended course of treatment
The recommended course of treatment is 9 months. When treatment is stopped, the dose should be reduced to 8 mg once a day in the last 2 weeks of treatment.
3. How to take the medicine
Swallow the capsule whole in the morning, at least 1 hour before meals. Do not crush, break, or dissolve budesonide extended-release capsules.
4. Treatment of missed doses
You should take the medicine as soon as possible, but if it is close to the next dose time, skip the missed dose and do not take two doses at once.
What should be avoided while taking budesonide extended-release capsules
1. Grapefruit may interact with budesonide and cause side effects. Avoid eating grapefruit products.
2. Avoid getting close to people who are sick or infected. If you have been exposed to chickenpox or measles patients, you need to inform your doctor for preventive treatment.
3. If you are allergic to budesonide or any ingredients in the delayed-release capsules, you should not use it.
4. Long-term and regular use of corticosteroids may lead to cortical hyperfunction and adrenal axis suppression, which will reduce the ability of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis to respond to stress. Additional corticosteroid supplementation may be required during surgery, illness, or other stressful events.
5. Budesonide extended-release capsules may cause side effects, thereby worsening other pre-existing diseases, such as hypertension, diabetes, osteoporosis, glaucoma or cataracts, and the condition needs to be monitored for any worsening.
What are the side effects of Budesonide Extended-Release Capsules?
Budenesonide Extended-Release Capsules may cause serious side effects, including acne, thickening or increasing body and facial hair, easy bruising, a fat pad or hump between the shoulders (buffalo hump), rounded face (moon face), and pink or purple streaks on the skin of the abdomen, thighs, breasts, or arms (striations).
When budesonide extended-release capsules are taken for an extended period of time (long-term use), adrenal suppression, a condition in which the adrenal glands do not produce enough steroid hormones, may occur. Symptoms of adrenal suppression include fatigue, nausea and vomiting, weakness, and low blood pressure.
