恶液质能治好吗？Adlumiz治疗恶液质效果怎么样？

2014 European ESMO news reported that taking into account the effective medical needs, the new drug Adlumiz is expected to be the first treatment option that can effectively improve patients with cancer anorexia and cachexia. Cancer cachexia (CC) is a group of syndromes characterized by loss of fat and muscle tissue and progressive deterioration of nutritional status. 50% to 90% of patients with malignant tumors will develop anorexia and cachexia before death. Therefore, adjuvant treatment of cancer cachexia has gradually attracted attention. So, can cachexia be cured? How effective is the treatment of cachexia?

Cachexia cannot be cured, it can only be alleviated. Here is an introduction to the effect of Adlumiz in treating cachexia:

In 2016, a phase II clinical trial of Japanese non-small cell lung cancer combined with cachexia included 181 patients, who were randomly divided into three groups: Adlumiz 50mg group, 100mg group and control group, and continued treatment for 12 weeks. The main outcome indicators are LBM and HGS, and the secondary outcome indicators include body weight, QoL and physical status score (KPS). The LBM of the control group and the 100mg group within 12 weeks were 0.55±0.29kg and 1.15±0.31kg respectively (P=0.0516). Although the LBM of the 50mg group also increased, it was not more significant than that of the control group (P=0.2903).

The body weight changes in the three groups were -0.93 (control group), 0.54 (50mg group) and 1.77kg (100mg group), and the 100mg group significantly improved KPS (P=0.04 82) and QoL (P=0.0107), but HGS was not significantly improved in the Adlumiz group (50mg group: P=0.4952; 100mg group: P=0.3597). This study proves that the 100mg dose can be used well in the treatment of cachexia.
