Epithelioid sarcoma (ES) is a clinically rare malignant soft tissue tumor that is often considered to be high-grade and has a poor prognosis. It is a slowly growing intradermal or subcutaneous nodule that can reach deep into the fascia or even the tendon sheath. The tissue origin is not yet clear. Most opinions currently believe that it is derived from primitive mesenchymal cells with multi-lineage differentiation potential, which can differentiate into two directions: epithelial cells and mesenchymal cells.
