Oral administration. The recommended dose for adult patients is 20-30 mg daily, 2/3 taken in the morning and 1/3 after lunch. When there is stress, the dosage should be increased appropriately, up to 80mg per day, taken in divided doses. The therapeutic dose for children is 20-25/m2 per day based on body surface area, divided into 3 times and taken once every hour. Patients should not change the dosage of medication at will.

Like most other drugs, hydrocortisone tablets will also have some side effects during treatment. Long-term use may cause iatrogenic Cushing's syndrome in face and posture, weight gain, lower limb edema, purple lines, easy bleeding tendency, poor wound healing, acne, menstrual disorders, avascular necrosis of the humeral or femoral head, osteoporosis and Fractures (including vertebral compression fractures, long bone pathological fractures), muscle weakness, muscle atrophy, hypokalemia syndrome, gastrointestinal irritation (nausea, vomiting), pancreatitis, peptic ulcer or perforation, growth inhibition in children, glaucoma, cataracts, benign increased intracranial pressure syndrome, impaired glucose tolerance, and exacerbation of diabetes.

Some patients may develop glucocorticoid withdrawal syndrome after discontinuing hydrocortisone tablets, manifesting as dizziness, fainting tendency, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, abdominal or back pain, low-grade fever, muscle or joint pain, headache, fatigue, and weakness.
